The Kax is an independent rock band formed in 2003 in Los Angeles, California, by Justin Clay (vocals, guitar), Stephan Versini (bass) and Andrew Grant (drums). They released their self-titled debut album in 2007.
The album was recorded, produced and engineered by Scott Gilman (Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper, Frank Black) at The Hobby Shop Studios in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles and it features two songs performed with singer/songwriter Sierra Swan.
Their songs "Summertime Daze" and "Hungry Animals" have been played in the major MTV production The Hills, which gave the band wide national and international exposure. Their songs "Remember Me" and "So Do We" were also used on various extreme sports videos, such as pro surfer Bobby Martinez's "Mixed Tape".
LA’s premiere Rock station, Indie 103.1 played regularly Kax songs "So do We", "Summertime Daze" and "The Light" on Check One...Two, a show that profiled LA’s hottest new bands when the album was released. Their style of music is described by allmusic as post-punk power pop.
